This blog is about a bond, not just dogs

This blog exists because life with an animal is not a checklist.
It’s not just about travelling with a dog.
It’s not just about food.
It’s not just about routines, rules or perfect behaviour.
It’s about the bond that is built quietly, every day.
The bond that grows when you listen.
When you adapt.
When you show up, even on the days when you don’t have the strength.
Life is not linear, and neither is living with a dog
Life doesn’t move in straight lines.
And living with a dog doesn’t either.
There are moments of freedom and joy.
But there are also moments of loneliness, fear, loss and deep change.
This blog was created to talk about all of it, not just the easy parts.
I emigrated alone in my 40s.
I left my life behind and rebuilt everything from zero.
London is full of people, but it is also full of solitude, especially for immigrants.

Living with a dog did not solve everything.
But it gave structure when everything else felt unstable.
It created routine, responsibility and presence when I needed them most.
Food, travel, care and emotions are connected

ow we feed our dogs.
How we travel with them.
How we care for them.
How we listen to them.
None of this exists in isolation.
Health is not only physical.
Well-being is not measured only in grams, kilometres or rules.
Balance matters more than extremes.
Context matters more than rigid systems.
Just like with people, every dog is different.
Personality, energy, routine and environment all play a role.
This blog does not promote perfection.
It promotes awareness, consistency and respect for real life.
No judgement, only responsibility
Some realities are uncomfortable.
Re-homing.
Regret.
Burnout.
Realising you were not prepared.
This blog does not judge people.
Life is complex and circumstances change.

But this space always centres the animal.
When situations become difficult, the animal is the most vulnerable one in the story.
Talking about these realities does not make them disappear.
It helps people make better, more responsible decisions.
Silence does not protect animals.
Honest conversations can.
Cookie is not a mascot. She is part of the story

Cookie is not here to decorate content.
She is not a symbol or a brand element.
She is a living being who shared my hardest moments and my rebuilding.
In ways that are difficult to explain, she became my pillar.
With a body so small, she carried a weight much bigger than herself and kept me from falling completely.
My life exists because of that bond.
And this blog exists because of it too.
Not as a concept, but as a lived experience.
If you’re here, maybe you’re not alone
This is not a blog about perfection.
It is a blog about trying.
Trying to live better.
Trying to care better.
Trying to understand our animals and ourselves.
Some people arrive here looking for practical guidance.
Others arrive during moments of change, loneliness or transition.
If you are here, maybe you are not alone.
And maybe this space can offer presence, perspective and a little clarity along the way.
